Swinging Oslo the heart of Scandinavia

Oslo is the capital of Norway and is the main starting point for most visitors to this beautiful country.

The city lies very close to its famous fjord and is really quite unique when compared to other large cities. It is the oldest of all the Scandinavian cities with a population of well over half a million.

Similar to Stavanger, Oslo has the old part and the new part with a good choice of museums, lakes and parks.

The night life is very lively, especially for young people. There is a tremendous amount of pubs, night clubs and restaurants not to mention theaters.

It’s truly amazing to think that Oslo is completely surrounded by woodlands, hills and lakes, and it`s architecture is really wonderful.

This video clip by Esther Borbas shows it beautifully

There is a large amusement park called Tusenfryd and here there are attractions for the young and not so young.

One of the rides I will never forget was the Super Splash. The world’s highest and steepest drop into water. Another crazy ride is the The Speed Monster. I didn’t try this one but my Son did!!! It accelerates from zero to 56 mph in 2 seconds WOW!!

If you are here in the summertime, there’s even a park especially for the kids. There is a Swimming pool, Water Park and even a swimming river. The older kids might fancy a game of beach volleyball. No problem they can play here.

I strongly recommend a visit to my three favorite museums. The Viking Ship Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Kon-Tiki Museum

The Kon-Tiki museum displays the original Kon-Tiki raft from 1947. Under the raft is a whale shark with a length of over 30 foot. You will also see an incredible collection of things found on archaeological digs on Easter Island.

A little taste of Kon Tiki 1947

There is a cinema you can relax in with non-stop showings. Maybe you like to party ;=) if you do then you are in the right City. There are hundreds of bars, cafes, night clubs and restaurants at you disposal.

Oslo’s party people are a mixture of so many nationalities; some times it’s hard to believe you are in beautiful Norway. The clubs and night clubs are very friendly and you always feel very welcome.

Disk Jockeys come from places far and wide to entertain in this pulsating city.

At the weekends most of the clubs and pubs have live bands performing, some very well known too!!!

Bye the way, you too could have a website like mine!!!!!

Even if you know absolutely nothing about how to go about it.

It’s a very gratifying feeling to sit down and write about something you know really well and to enlighten people with information and advice. People just like yourself, who take the time to visit your web page and read what you have to tell them.

I had first hand experiences on my travels through Beautiful Norway and I felt I just had to share them. Very carefully I tried to build a website on my own and even managed to upload it to the internet.

What happened next? Nothing!!!! I didn’t get any visitors to my site and I had no idea why. Then I received an e-mail from a friend who introduced me to SBI :=)

I’ll tell you something from the bottom of my heart. This e-mail changed my life.

If you would like to know how, take a look at this little video clip
